February 27, 2025, marks a watershed moment in Chaberton’s journey.
Five years ago, our company was just a bold idea, a passionate entrepreneur paired with a friend-turned-colleague, and our first landowner meeting. Today, we stand at this milestone not merely as leaders in a competitive landscape, but as innovators who have definitively outgrown our startup roots. This anniversary isn’t just about marking time—it’s about celebrating the transformation from ambitious beginnings to established presence.
To mark the occasion, we’re reflecting on our evolution as we turn the page on this pivotal chapter in the Chaberton story.

Last year, we were named America’s 34th fastest-growing company on the Inc. 5000 after showing 7,300% growth from 2020 to 2023. And we entered 2025 as one of the most established renewable energy developers in the mid-Atlantic and among Inc.’s Best in Business.

From our humble beginnings with that first landowner family, Chaberton now has site control over 700MW of electric generating capacity. Enough to power roughly 120,400 homes.
Looking Toward an Even Brighter Future
The next five years will depend on our ability to stick to our values, keep our team strong, and grow into new markets. This year, we cemented our leadership in Maryland and Delaware, we are developing new projects in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Mexico, and we started or continued prospecting in several other states.
While we take a moment to celebrate our first five years, we move forward with excitement about the future. We will strive to develop more projects, explore new business and project pipeline frontiers, and create a positive impact on our communities.
