Founded in 2020 and headquartered in the greater Washington, D.C., area, Chaberton Energy is a public benefit corporation focused on developing sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects. ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Corporate Development and Finance Manager will be responsible for driving financial analyses, supporting project finance activities, and contributing to the overall growth and success of Chaberton Energy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record tax equity and project finance modeling, interpreting market data, adapting financial models to dynamic conditions, and clearly communicating financial insights to key stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage in end-to-end project finance and tax equity initiatives, including structuring, financial modeling, execution and closing activities for sell side, buy side, B2B, and joint venture transactions.
- Organize competitive offers and support negotiations of LOIs, MIPAs, and other transaction structures.
- Develop and optimize project financial models to provide financial analytics for project selection and investment decision-making.
- Collaborate with Chaberton’s Real Estate Origination, B2B, and Development teams to support efficient origination, development, optimization and expansion of high-quality project portfolios.
- Conduct market research to monitor updates on revenue or cost drivers, evaluating their impact on project economics, and ensure the regular flow of information regarding project value drivers to the Development team.
- Support in developing core and new market strategies; develop in-depth understanding of local and federal regulations, revenue stack, market challenges, etc. and ensure the knowledge flows to the Finance team and the broader Chaberton team.
- Strategically improve the corporate pro-forma model to support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic corporate forecasting.
- Influence management decision-making on ad-hoc corporate and strategic matters to enhance operational efficiency and processes, furthering Chaberton’s Creativity-Excellence-Humanity core value framework in day-to-day application.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in project finance, M&A, or corporate finance.
- Demonstrated success in financial analysis and modeling, with expertise in project finance principles, tax equity financing, and market research.
- Proficiency in all MS Office programs, particularly Excel; Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills. Able to summarize complex issues and convey information effectively.
- Attention to detail.
- Resourceful, curious, and proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Able to collaborate with multiple disciplines including sales, engineering, construction, permitting, and project origination.
- Strong work ethic / desire to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner and meet / exceed milestones.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance with a concentration in Sustainability or Energy, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project finance, M&A, or corporate finance, ideally at an investment bank or PE firm.
- 1+ years of buy/sell side transaction experience in Distributed Generation or Community Solar project financing.
ROLE LOGISTICS:
- Full-Time (Fully Remote will be considered for the right candidate)
- Hybrid from your home office in DC Metropolitan area with expectations to travel 10% of the time with an expectation of at least 2 days / week at the Chaberton Energy HQ in Rockville, MD.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Rock Star Sales Manager to join our Commercial & Industrial team. The ideal candidate would bring relevant experience and a structured, yet entrepreneurial, approach to selling solar projects in the B-to-B environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
- Analyze and leverage relevant sales opportunities in assigned geographies/markets, assess fit for renewable energy and open the door for initial conversations.
- Organize relevant information from prospects and employ internal tools/resources to develop and present proposals to potential customers.
- Oversee all stages of the sales process, overcoming objections, and preparing creative solutions to address concerns.
- Lead negotiations to close deals and create long-term value for both the company and clients.
Pipeline and Project Opportunity Management
- Develop and enhance a robust sales pipeline, providing a steady flow of new business opportunities.
- Utilize knowledge of solar incentives, financing, and ROI analysis to structure competitive proposals for clients.
- Accurately Forecast deals for closure and continuously churn your active pipeline
Sales Leadership and Interpersonal Communication
- Capturing voice of the customer and return that feedback to the team to refine the C&I offering.
- Maintain strong relationship with C&I clients, energy consultants, and strategic partners.
- Work closely with the project development, engineering, and finance teams to align on project feasibility, design, and financial models.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth post sale project handoff.
Reporting and Sales Forecasting
- Keep record of all customer interactions in the company CRM system.
- Achieve assigned KPIs for calls, meetings, proposals and won projects.
- Analyze KPIs and adjust strategies as necessary to meet business goals.
Budgeting and Resource Management
- Plan expenses and resource allocation to optimize cost without compromising the quality of sales efforts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field, or comparable experience.
- At least 3 years’ demonstrated success in business-to-business sales and driving revenue growth.
- At least 2 years of experience using a CRM software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to summarize complex issues and convey information effectively.
- Strong client management skills and sales acumen to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships and negotiate complex contracts.
- Able to review and interpret technical documents and construction drawings.

- In-depth knowledge of the solar energy industry, specifically the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, including technology, market trends, and regulatory frameworks and how organizations can capture value from Energy Projects.
- At least 2 years of proficient experience using SalesForce as a CRM software.
- Examples of success selling Energy projects in the C&I space.
- Experience with CRM, Google Earth, PVWatts, Helioscope, and other solar industry engineering tools.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Compensation commensurate experience.

Target Annual Bonus: 25% (may be more or less depending on the mix of individual and company performance as compared to established goals)

ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an exceptional administrative assistant to join our growing team and provide. The ideal candidate would bring an entrepreneurial, people-centric approach tempered by exceptional attention to detail and become a key nexus of operations and people engagement for the entire team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Support:
- Perform project-specific research to support the operations team, including preparing summary analyses of findings.
- Prepare and send applications, forms, and other documentation associated with project development.
- File, audit, and maintain (largely electronic) project documents.
- Perform data organization and data entry as needed.
- Assist with reviewing and revision of public facing presentations or promotional materials.
- Assist with employee events or engagement coordination.
Office Maintenance:
- Monitor office supplies and refreshments inventory, placing orders as necessary.
- Organize incoming/outgoing Mail & Packages (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain the office space to support team needs and present an inviting, professional workspace.
HR Support:
- Assist with early hiring process logistics to organize internal recruitment efforts.
- Research and provide HR support to ensure ongoing HR compliance with team growth.
- Benchmark benefits and support benefits expansion strategy and efforts for team members.
- Utilize professionalism and discretion in maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
Administrative & Logistics Support:
- Assist with inter-team logistics and coordination as needed.
- Work independently, with our cross-functional teams, and with external parties including but not limited to landowners, public agencies, equipment vendors, contractors, etc.
- Provide other administrative support as assigned, including scheduling group meetings, maintaining calendars, doing research, and preparing reports.
IT Support:
- Provide IT support and for office hardware & software (laptops, printers, phone, wi-fi/router, conference room camera & software, website, etc.).
- Assist in resolving IT issues across the team.
- Support elevating security protocols.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of full-time, office administrative support experience
- Associate Degree (Business, HR, Communications, Psychology, Data Management, or IT preferred)
