As Chaberton Energy nears its 6-year anniversary in early 2026, we wrap up 2025 as a defining milestone in our journey.
In 2025, Chaberton expanded our capabilities with solar and storage solutions, reached new project milestones, and deepened our commitment to the communities we serve. We earned national recognition for our growth and workplace culture, advanced critical energy policy, and solidified our position as a leader in the distributed energy industry.
“We have a lot to be proud of as 2025 comes to a close,” said Stefano Ratti, Chaberton’s Founder and CEO. “We’ve proven that it’s possible to build a thriving business while staying true to our values of creativity, excellence, and humanity, all while delivering real benefits to the communities we serve and value to our business partners.”
Chaberton’s Project Portfolio Reached New Heights in 2025
We now have 100+ projects representing 500+ MWdc of distributed energy under site control, with a robust 1+ GW development pipeline positioning us for continued expansion.
We’ve reached over 100MW of completed projects across the United States and Italy, demonstrating our ability to deliver on our commitments.
With 80+ U.S. projects totaling 350+ MW currently in development, we’re building the infrastructure for a more resilient energy future.
Six community solar projects totaling 17 MW reached mechanical completion in 2025, bringing distributed energy closer to the communities that need it most. These Delaware and Maryland projects represent our commitment to making distributed energy accessible and affordable.
The joint venture between Chaberton Energy and Italy-based developer Sunscape sold the partnership’s first three solar projects totaling approximately 15 MW in Italy. The successful development of the Ponente and Maestrale projects represented a significant foray into the promising Italian solar energy market.
Expanding Chaberton’s Offerings
In 2025, Chaberton expanded its presence in the battery energy storage systems (BESS) space. This positions us at the forefront of grid resilience and reliability, whether we use BESS as an add-on to our solar projects or as standalone resources.
Battery storage systems do something conventional generation can’t. They turn electricity into a flexible resource. They store excess energy when supply exceeds demand and deliver that power when demand peaks. This isn’t just about smoothing out solar and wind variability. It’s about rethinking how we match generation to consumption.
Investing in Our Communities
Through Chaberton Cares, we have invested $180,000+ in local communities, supporting 25 nonprofit organizations in the areas where we develop projects. This commitment reflects our belief that energy development should create opportunities and benefits for all.
Our community partnerships focus on investing in future leaders and expanding support to the underserved in the communities where we operate.
Earning Industry Recognition
For the second year in a row, Chaberton was named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. In 2025, Chaberton placed #53 overall, as well as the #1 fastest-growing Maryland company and the #2 fastest-growing energy company in the United States. This achievement reflects our team’s dedication and the trust our partners place in us.
We were also named to Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces list, a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture where creativity, excellence, and humanity thrive. Building a great workplace isn’t just good for our team, it’s essential to delivering exceptional results for our stakeholders.
In addition, Chaberton’s Founder and CEO Stefano Ratti was named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Mid-Atlantic Award Finalist as well as one of Washington Life’s 2025 Innovators and Disruptors.
Advancing Policy Across Our Markets
Chaberton played an active role in shaping energy policy in 2025. We helped lead collaborative efforts to advance Maryland’s Renewable Energy Certainty Act (RECA), which took effect July 1. We also supported Massachusetts’ Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target 3.0 Program, and advocated for Illinois’ Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (SB25).
These policy efforts create the frameworks necessary for distributed energy to flourish, ensuring that more communities can access the benefits of solar, storage, and more.
Looking Ahead
As Chaberton reflects on almost six years of growth, 2025 stands as both a milestone and a foundation for what comes next. With expanded capabilities, a growing portfolio across the U.S. and internationally, and a continued focus on delivering meaningful community impact, we enter the next chapter with momentum, clarity, and purpose.
