At Chaberton, we’re proud to participate in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, offering transitioning service members valuable experience in solar development during their final 180 days of military service. Over a minimum of three months, interns learn project management processes, market regulations, solar design using Helioscope, site selection, feasibility studies, and financial modeling for solar projects. ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Development Manager to join our development team. The ideal candidate would bring relevant experience and a structured, yet entrepreneurial, approach to managing projects assigned in both pre-construction and construction phases for Chaberton’s growing portfolio of distributed generation solar assets in Illinois, (Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and/or other markets as may be assigned over time).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advance the development of a portfolio of 15-30 projects inside key markets with leadership responsibilities over a team of 1-2 development or associate development managers.
- Leverage information from project analyses to maximize solar productivity and project value (triple bottom line).
- Lead a bench of outside vendors including bidding, contracting, and reviewing deliverables with expertise specific to the key markets.
- Identify issues, conduct analyses, recommend, and implement approved solutions to ensure project delivery.
- Improve and advance development process workflows and promote excellence in execution of processes among development team members, the broader Chaberton organization, and key vendors.
- Adapt and revise project pathways based upon critical path analyses to improve schedule outcomes and work individually and through direct reports to implement solutions.
- Coordinate commercial and marketing efforts for assigned projects.

Role Overview
We are searching for an exceptional Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The Paralegal will be responsible for leading land acquisition contracting processes, title review support including coordinating curative title workflows, and managing the contract-lifecycle for all real estate contracts at Chaberton. This role bridges legal, development, and real estate functions to help secure and maintain compliance with bankable, risk-mitigated contracts critical to supporting project success from origination through transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of professionalism and be detail and customer service-oriented, excited about leveraging technology to build and scale processes, able to work with a large volume of files and legal documents daily, and efficiently manage the regular interface with landowners, developers, surveyors, title companies, county clerks, and real estate counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Land Acquisition
- Review and draft of a wide range of contracts and ancillary documents, including, without limitation, land leases, purchase agreements, easements, memorandums, and other asset management‑related documents
- Develop detailed familiarity of Chaberton real estate contract templates and manage contract workflows using contract management software (SpotDraft, SalesForce, SiteTracker, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with internal legal counsel to assist in site control negotiations including drafting, revising, managing updated or redline versions, preparing execution copies, and assisting in securing fully executed and notarized contracts
Title, Survey, Development & Risk Review
- Support the endtoend real estate title process, including requesting new and updated title reports and ALTA surveys, tracking delivery, and organizing related documentation.
- Under the supervision of internal legal counsel, prepare first drafts of and/or review curative documents such as SNDAs, easements, deeds, affidavits, and other real property documents, and coordinate with title companies and outside counsel to resolve title issues.
Contract Lifecycle Management
- Under the supervision of internal legal counsel, prepare first drafts of and/or review terminations, releases, extensions, exercises of options, amendments, and other asset managementrelated documents.
- Coordinate signatures of appropriate signing authorities, ensuring contracts are fully executed by all parties, and collaborate with legal and commercial operations teams to file drafts and executed versions of contracts in applicable locations and systems.
- Support internal compliance with contract policies and approval workflows, including maintaining checklists, trackers, and status reports.
Corporate
- Lead day‑to‑day legal entity management activities, including forming new entities, maintaining corporate records and minute books, preparing officer and manager consents, coordinating good standing certificates, and supporting annual and periodic filings.
- Support corporate structuring and compliance by helping maintain organizational charts, tracking intercompany agreements and approvals, and coordinating with internal legal counsel to ensure entities remain in good standing and aligned with transaction and financing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate college degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a real estate paralegal or other relevant legal experience
- Experience with corporate and/or real estate-related contracts and transactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting commercial real estate transactions, including title/survey review coordination, curative work, and closing checklists
- Experience with corporate entity management (e.g., forming entities, maintaining corporate records, preparing officer/manager consents, and managing good standing certificates)
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools and/or CRM or project management systems (e.g., SpotDraft, Salesforce, SiteTracker, or similar platforms)
- Exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, or other project‑finance‑ driven industries is a plus but not required

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Corporate Development and Finance Manager will be responsible for driving financial analyses, supporting project finance activities, and contributing to the overall growth and success of Chaberton Energy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record tax equity and project finance modeling, interpreting market data, adapting financial models to dynamic conditions, and clearly communicating financial insights to key stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage in end-to-end project finance and tax equity initiatives, including structuring, financial modeling, execution and closing activities for sell side, buy side, B2B, and joint venture transactions across solar and co-located / standalone battery storage projects.
- Organize competitive offers and support negotiations of LOIs, MIPAs, and other transaction structures.
- Develop and optimize project financial models for both solar PV and energy storage systems (standalone or co-located), incorporating project-specific value streams such as energy arbitrage, capacity, and ancillary services.
- Collaborate with Chaberton’s Real Estate Origination, B2B, and Development teams to support efficient origination, development, optimization and expansion of high-quality project portfolios, including storage-enabled solutions.
- Monitor BESS-specific market dynamics and regulatory developments, and ensure this information flows to the Finance and Development teams to inform project value assumptions and risk assessments.
- Support in developing core and new market strategies, especially where storage is a key component of market participation; develop in-depth understanding of local and federal regulations, revenue stack, and competitive landscape.
- Strategically improve the corporate pro-forma model to support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic corporate forecasting.
- Influence management decision-making on ad-hoc corporate and strategic matters to enhance operational efficiency and processes, furthering Chaberton’s Creativity-Excellence-Humanity core value framework in day-to-day application.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in project finance, M&A, or corporate finance, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Demonstrated success in financial analysis and modeling, with expertise in project finance principles, tax equity financing, and market research.
- Experience modeling and evaluating energy storage (BESS) projects or solar + storage hybrids is strongly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage projects and delegate workload and analysis tasks to the Chaberton engineering team.
- Coordinate with Chaberton engineering team to create and review high quality and optimized solar designs in a timely manner.
- Influence project design as electrical subject matter expert.
- Manage engineers and designers to complete project designs.
- Review, revise, improve, and approve design documents, upholding highest standards via quality assurance reviews.
- Perform project optimization and value engineering.
- Advance the development of assigned projects to transaction-ready status.
- Assess and ensure utility-specific interconnection requirements are applied accurately across a broad portfolio of projects.
- Lead & review “bankable” productivity modeling via PVSyst.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
